Latest information in design and print

We’ve got great news! The world has just gone flat……….

Well at least for Kokoon it has. The award winning large format graphics company has recently installed the NEW Arizona 250 GT flat bed printer.

Already producing work for the point of sale, exhibition, and point of sale sectors, Kokoon’s Arizona 250 GT flat bed printer prints directly onto rigid substrates such as foam pvc, Dibond aluminium composite sheet, glass, acrylic, cardboard and corex as well as roll fed media like self adhesive vinyl, paper, banner vinyl, canvas and contravision.

And when size matters how about a maximum print width of 2.5 metres!

Fast digital printing producing vibrant high quality output.
A true 600 x 600 DPI at production speed using UV curable pigmented inks gives robust outdoor durable prints without the need for lamination.

Gone are the days of restrictive minimum print runs and long production lead times.

Imagine printing your own personalised ceramic tiles!

The possibilities are endless….. graphics for exhibitions, point of sale, marketing campaigns, sign making, light box displays, hoarding, billboards and more.

All this compliments Kokoon’s existing large format capacity:
photographic quality pigment printing for fine art and museum projects alongside versatile solvent printing for exhibition, sign making and display work.

European Recognition for New Graphics Firm

A Yorkshire-based signs and graphics company has won its first international accolade.

Kokoon, of Bradford, has been Highly Commended in a Europe-wide graphics competition organised by leading signage and graphics products supplier MACTAC.

"We're thrilled to bits," said partner Richard Grant. "We were up against some really big names from all over Europe and I have to say we're thrilled to have won this sort of recognition - let's hope it signals more great things ahead."
Since setting up in Low Moor, Richard Grant and David Taylor have undertaken a raft of work ranging from exterior signs for local businesses to graphics projects exported to Scotland and France. They've also worked on complicated scenery for visitor centres and theatres, including a giant script for Harrogate Theatre's recent production of Misery and a 12m x 2.7m backdrop for the Liverpool Everyman Theatre production of Paradise Bound.
"It's good to have a mix," said Richard. "We love it when clients say they know what they want but they're not sure how to achieve it - variety and challenge are what it's all about. We've tackled some really unusual jobs and solved quite a few problems already. Things are going so well that we are looking to employ another designer and will hopefully take on two more people within the next six months."
Kokoon's MACTAC award was in recognition of its work for Hull City Council, creating graphics for three regeneration projects in the city at Burnett's House, Old Town Larrards and Quay West.
The company produced a total of 200 1.2m x 2.4m panels, each of which was individually printed onto self-adhesive vinyl using solvent inkjet technology, then mounted and edge wrapped onto 6mm marine plywood.

David said: "The design featured a large continuous image repeated every 16 panels which made it very tricky. The topography of the ground varied across the different sites but we had to ensure that this didn't distort the images in any way. Fortunately Richard also happens to be a qualified surveyor, so he dug out his old theodolite and surveyed the three sites so that we could make accurate adjustments to the images and ensure they all matched up on the hoardings."
